Hi, I'm Calvin VanRiper II - a U.S. Army Information Systems Supervisor transitioning into a career in full-stack development. My background blends technical leadership, system administration, and cybersecurity with a strong passion for programming, automation, and building tools that make work simpler and more efficient.
Across my military career, I've created multiple custom automation solutions to improve workflow and reduce human error. I've built VBA applications for inventory control, accountability tracking, and automated reporting, as well as a VBA-based Active Directory account creation tool that streamlined new-user onboarding across teams. I also expanded many of these tools using PowerShell and Batch scripting, enabling automated cleanup, user creation, and system preparation tasks. These projects not only saved significant time but also strengthened my interest in software engineering and automation.
I'm currently developing a portfolio of projects while advancing my skills in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, backend fundamentals, cloud technologies, and full-stack architecture. I enjoy taking complex problems, breaking them down into logical components, and turning them into clean, functional code.
My long-term goal is to merge my hands-on technical experience with modern software engineering practices to build scalable applications, automate processes, and contribute to meaningful, real-world solutions.
